try upgrade cpu to intel core i5 or i7 whichever way you can. preferably downgrading ssd

i would like to both editing and gaming but more of gaming 

are you going for heavy duty high res gaming and heavy duty editing.. or just the ordinary settings

From the look up top I am assuming you copied this from PCPartPicker. So just take the link in the top left of the page (don't include the webpage banner) and copy the link that will say something like pcpartpicker.com/W8dhjj5 (<--- it won't say that but it will b something similar to that)

any suggestions on what i could do?

for Video Card it all depends on what you trust.. EVGA, MSI, ASUS, and Gigabyte make the same model of 980 4GB with different prices
