3A is extremely high power for an LED most diode LED's are around 20-100mA, it depends on the color.

i know  but i need 6x 3 amp leds (refurbishing some headligths off a train, colour doesnt matter as im useng them to ligthup my room)

The only LED that are that high amperage are these chip type LED's which need to have a constant current driver to power them to a max of 3A or they will burn themselves out, not to mention a large heatsink since they produce a pretty substantial amount of heat:

Well that is unexpected and yes a stock CPU heatsink will be more than enough without a fan, just add some thermal paste between the aluminum chip and the heasink when mouting to give it some better heat transfer.

i dont understand "where are theses being on a train for?" i got them from a warehouse (a friend of mt father bougth the building and all contents bechause last person didnt pay the rent, he found four sets of train headlamps i got one set for free and he sold the rest)
