Sorry, I don't know what I were thinking. :(

Thanks anyway.

I would list parts and such, but this tells you the parts, and how they perform!

I am on a low budget of around £250 or $300 and need to choose my components for a build.

I want to be able to play popular games on medium to high settings flawlessly while slicing through everyday tasks.

You can't really do both of those together. Save up more. You won't be playing many popular games on medium to high with a $300 pc.

Do you have any idea what specific games you would be playing?

Probably not going to happen unless you play CS:GO/LoL or buy older used parts off ebay

The pentium has better upgrade path.

You can upgrade to a locked i7 in the future.

h81 as a chipset can OC. As for specific boards... Depends on the quality of the board.

Regardless I would say don't buy anything and just save up. Not worth it at $300.
