Change case from NZXT H440 to Corsair 540 Air, worth it?

josephnicholas

Hi Guys,

As you know NZXT H440 based on the looks and the silence is 10/10. But I think for me it is just that. I mean, I am a fan of air cooling, and NZXT H440 is quite not into that kind of stuff.

So here is the question, I'm planning to switch cases, and it would be the Corsair 540 Air, this case for me is really optimized for air cooling, but is it worth it?

I will of course use the H440 as a living room PC, which I will use for streaming, gaming, and also music.

Thanks.

Not worth it IMO, air flow isn't even that bad, people just complain too much.

Yes, but as you know, I tried feeling the 3 120mm front intake, and it really has less air travelling. But my GPU is having a 79C temp under load. Is that bad?

Thanks.

If you wanted a case for optimal air cooling, you'd be better going for the silverstone RV/FT05 as they would garner far greater results than anything else. However, the H440 isn't that bad for airflow really, so long as you don't have fan speeds at some impossibly low rpm.

What GPU? That's probably normal (60-90 degrees). The degree change would be very small anyway. Not worth it IMO

@Hydra

I have the Palit GTX 980 Jetstream, I'm just a little worried if the card's life span will shorten because of the heat. Thinking also to switch to NZXT liquid cooling, if case switch isn't worthy enough.

thanks

With one card I could use the stock fans in my 540. Now that I run sli I had to upgrade to noctua's. Its nice to play games and keep lower fan speeds and still not have my cards over 60-65 degrees.
