If by record you mean stream, edit, etc then I suggest getting a better CPU. In that case, this is what I'd recommend:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor (£185.94 @ Aria PC)

Motherboard: ASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£62.06 @ Amazon UK)

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£57.60 @ Kustom PCs)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£35.94 @ Aria PC)

Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card (£149.14 @ Scan.co.uk)

Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case (£31.99 @ Novatech)

Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£36.98 @ Novatech)

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) (£71.60 @ Amazon UK)

Total: £631.25

However, if you dont need that kind of CPU horsepower because you just want to play games, then you can get a cheaper CPU and a better GPU like this:

Motherboard: MSI H97M-G43 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£64.99 @ Amazon UK)

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£57.60 @ Kustom PCs)
