No Displayport Signal on Monitor During Boot Process

SnorLax_Dai

When I use the displayport (DP1.2) with my monitor and VGA card, there are times the monitor shows no displayport signal after the Asus ROG POST screen (before the windows login screen) despite that the PC has booted up actually and all other components work as normal; Other times they work just fine. I have tried three different display ports on my VGA card and another displayport cable, they did not help much, though. On the other hand, the HDMI port seems to work totally fine.

Monitor: Asus PB287Q 4K Monitor, 3840*2160 (recommended), 60 Hz, DP1.2;

Processor: Intel i7-5820K

Motherboard: Asus Rampage V Extreme

RAM: 16G (4*4G) DDR4 G.Skill

VGA: dual MSI GTX 980 (SLI)

OS: win 8.1 pro 64bit

Is there anyone who can tell me which part of my PC might be in trouble? Thanks a lot.

you might need to change settings...

i might not have 4k, but maybe 980 drivers aren't fully up to speed with running display port?

Hello guys. It turns to be the GPU driver that causes this issue. For the people who use displayport and GTX 980 as I do, please refer to Nvidia website for Hotfix driver 344.80 which Nvidia released last week. They fixed the following issues:

    GeForce GTX 980 displays texture shimmering when Texture Filtering Quality set to High Quality.

    GPU outputs fuzzy lines over DisplayPort after a period of time following driver updates.
    System hang up and black screen after power on with some monitors (DP1.2 & 4K/60Hz) + GTX980.
