Backup drives

Hi there @llAlexanderll!

I personally wouldn't back up on internal drive because when making a backup system it's better to isolate the device carrying the data for safety, protecting it from electrical glitches, physical damage etc. FOr instance, if a power surge kills the machine and all the components, you accidentally knock it over, spill your drink into the case, your house burns down around it. Any internal drives will be damaged, so having an external drive (preferably kept somewhere else) with the backup gives you an added layer of security to any local physical damage. For these reasons I find an external HDD to be way better option than an internal one.

So in case you decide to go with an external one, I can recommend the WD My Book series because it has the SmartWare Pro automatic backup software, comes with big capacity and is hardware encrypted. As for an internal back-up drive, you can take a look at the WD Green which is low power consuming and quiet operational.

Hope this helps.

Cheers! :)

Im building a PC and i was wondering how to set up an internal backup drive. How would i do this and what drive do you suggest?
