Problem booting into Windows 7 - 'A disk read error occured'

Guest

So today I have installed a new CPU, Mobo and GPU. With this i've reinstalled Windows 7. So I am running a RAID 0 on 2x128GB SSD's via Intel's RAID tool. I have installed Windows 7, done a few reboots. After doing a bunch of Windows updates then letting it restart i'm receiving the error 'A disk read error occurred, Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart'. This does nothing, so I use the reset button on my case and it does the same thing. I presume the Windows Update has done something to screw with my system? What's causing this? How can I fix this? I really don't want to have to reinstall Windows again today... Just finished setting it all up.

Thanks,

I can't fully remember how to fix this but i think it involves booting into safe mode and deleting the update. I think. That or your raid failed.

Is not an update. One of the storage devices is dead.RIP

What he was talking about is this KB2913431 but that have nothing to do here.As i said sorry one of the ssd's is dead

Beware of him that is slow to anger; for when it is long coming, it is the stronger when it comes, and the longer kept. Abused patience turns to fury.

"Thus, failure of one disk causes the loss of the entire RAID 0 volume"

Oh yeah I get that, but obviously I now need to determine which one has died... or dying, how can I determine this? I dont want to install the OS on the faulty one for it to only cause me more problems.

Just plug them one by one(don't add any hdd just one sdd) and fire up the pc but start with the one with windows on it.If the windows won't boot well that one is dead if the other is formated it should say that there's no operation system please install one or something like this

Well you are in big troubles :D Seriously...there's nothing i can do.You best shot right now is to plug them one by one and try to see if any of them will say that there's no os detected so you install one.But with the os splitted on 2 devices not sure if is going to work

Ok, ill have to take a gamble I guess, it's most likely the older SSD I suppose, my Samsung 830, rather than my much newer Corsair GS Force.
