What can I do with a spare USB Wifi dongle?

Aztec

Hey I've got 2 really decent internet dongles. My computers already have built in internet dongles, so they aren't really handy. However I've got a Synology NAS that only one of them are compatible with it. Yes I know this may sound ridiculous/weird but I like setting myself some cool random projects to do.

It does output a signal, are you talking about an AD-HOC connection over wifi?

ADHOC is like when you connect two devices over a network, but there's no router or modem, it's PC to PC

If only it was a USB Bluetooth one, I am testing out a bunch of those for various reasons.

Definitely keep them for traveling of any sort. I'm currently deployed in the military and we live in concrete dorms. The wifi extenders are in the hallway and if you have your dorm room shut, you can't even get a 1 bar signal. However, I have a usb wifi dongle attached to a 12 foot usb cable that is absolute perfect!! I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in the building who can get on the wifi from a bed.(Which is what I'm doing now.)
