Xbox 360 - End of an Era

So my gaming life has pretty much been entirely on a ps2 and more recently xbox 360.

I still play both of them quite often, and maintain a couple of ps2s to enjoy Kingdom Hearts and other titles, so I was wondering if I should buy a redundant xbox 360 - given their track record of MTBF (mode time before failure) isn't exactly amazing, especially with the legacy models.

 

I was wondering if there was any news as to when Microsoft will be dropping support for the 360 - including XBL, hardware diagnostic/replacement. I'm looking at getting the latest iteration of the 360 before they disappear from shelves.

The legacy models weren't that great but the Slim fixed a lot of the issues
