serious difficulty choosing the "right" 4k monitor...or maybe not 4k at all..

Hi everyone. I am building a new computer quite soon and am attempting to choose the monitor I want. My focus will be gaming...after doing a TON of research and reading, I decided that I wanted a 4k monitor, and that I would choose the Asus PB287Q. Then, I realized that Acer has a monitor (the XB280HK) that is 4k with G-sync. Then, after doing a whole bunch of research about G-sync and 4K, I had doubt instilled in me once again about getting the PB287Q. Unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately) along with reading about G-sync, I started reading about refresh rates again and then began to look at the ROG Swift once more...

 

IS the difference between 1440p and 4K going to blow my mind out of the water? I generally play single player games with focus on immersion, so beautiful graphics make me cry sweet tears, but the refresh rate may not be that important...or is it? When I do play competitive games, I usually am playing Dota 2, or Starcraft 2, but nothing like an FPS.

 

And if I do end up getting the 4K monitor, do I go for the PB287Q (which looks like it may have better contrast ratio and color reproduction) or do I get the XB280HK for the G-sync? I'll be running dual 970s for this set-up. 

 

My budget is ~1000 and less, and I really, really want to spend the money well for a display that I will get to know intimately and love.

All I can say, I have the um65 and it is AMAZING i can only imagine how nice the um95 is due the a lot better res.

Plus its an ips panel.
