Beyer Dynamic DT880 Pro 250 Ohms

Hey guys, I'd be able to get the above-mentioned pair of headphones for a relatively good price. It's used but in very good condition, but would cost me about 140USD. After comparing my HX Cloud to my ATH-AD700X, I can certainly appreciate better sound. As for my preferred signature sound, I'm not finicky about it as long as it isn't too bassy (I do enjoy bass), but NOT at expense of good mids and highs which should not be bright, I'm okay with it. Honestly don't want to go overboard with my cans purchases.....though I'm seriously thinking of getting an Alpha Dog at >500USD (the DT880 Pro would eliminate this  urge to get the AD).

 

Would appreciate feedback from audio gurus here, TIA!

I tried DTs and I can say those are the only headphones you will ever need, just get a modmic and you have a super duper good gaming headphone.

yes. apparently they are great. like Raze said. you could get a modmic or a desktop mic like a blue snowball or yeti

These ARE somewhat bright cans, though they do have more mids/bass than your current ones.

Wow, awfully fast replies!  Thanks guys, the DT880 Pro would cost me so much less than the AD I was thinking of (love the idea of planar cans). OK then, I will contact the seller and arrange to get the DT880 Pro.....once again, thanks for the damn fast replies! You B)  guys have been a great help.....

Update: As a result of the positive feedback here, I've confirmed to buy the headphones from the seller here, should take delivery in just over a week's time. Once again, thanks for the excellent feedback!

Besides, since you got it for a good price, if it turns out you don't like it, just sell it to get some money back. Who knows, you might get a little profit (maybe not much, just a soda + chips worth )

Nah, I have a feeling I'm gonna like it. Sort of how I'd felt when I was bidding for the Klipsch M40, when I got it, I was completely unaware of how it'd sound like, but since I have the Image One BT, I figured that I can adjust to the sound. So far, I like the M40, very good isolation even w/o enabling noise canceling, I find myself being able to enjoy music at a lower volume in a crowded environment.

Bah, the deal fell thru, seller isn't willing to extend personal guarantee of any sort/length, just test there and then, after which it'd be my problem should it spoil or prove defective. Whenever I sell a piece of my hardware, I'd extend at least 3 days personal guarantee, but since this guy isn't willing to do even that, I'd decided to walk away from the deal.
