Cans for when out and about (Philips Fidelio L1 perhaps)

Hey LTT folks!
The Phillips Fidelio L1s are on sale on Massdrop at 105 USD (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/philips-l1-headphones) and I was thinking of getting a couple of pairs for me and my brother. He listens to electronic and pretty bass-heavy music, but he's not a Beats idiot, so I want to get him something proper that's also built to take a bit of a beating.
I listen to blues rock, metal and that general genre (TOOL), and already have a pair of Beyer DT990 Pros for when I'm at home, so these will be for when I'm at school, public transport and everything else. I really like the open sound signature, and don't mind that I can hear my surroundings, so I figured they would suit my needs pretty well. Also, they're on Innerfidelity's Wall of Fame, so they can't be all bad http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/innerfidelitys-wall-fame-full-size-open.

Does anyone have any other suggestions/objections or is this just all good?
Thanks in advance, LTT. You're great!

That sounds like a damn good deal! The one caveat that you are aware of is that they're open. So you'll be able to hear your surroundings and that generally means turning up the volume to compensate, which leads to the second "problem"; that everyone around you is going to enjoy your music as well  ;)

I too am looking into getting these, and while I really dont NEED them, they look pretty boss and all the reviews on them indicate that they will definitely be my favourite headset......damn massdrop making me spend all my money.

When in doubt, re-format.
