Best HDD - workstation

I am looking for the fastest and also quite big hard drive for my arch-viz workstation (file storage, not OS drive). From all companys which makes drives i choose i think the best:

 

WD

 

Black 4 TB

Velociraptor 1 TB 

 

SEAGATE

 

SSHD (don't want this)

 

HITACHI (WD BRAND)

 

?

 

TOSHIBA

 

?

 

I think the best choice will be to buy WD Black 4 TB. I probably don't see any point in making RAID 0 or 1.

Yeah i would go with WD Black, those drives are super reliable and really good performance

I can personally recommend the velociraptors for reliability and speed, but they're noisy things. I preferred my old one to the SSD I have now for application load times etc. but I prefer the SSD for an OS drive because it's silent.

About the WD drives you've written – the Black is meant for gaming and demanding application drive, capacity up to 4 TB and has 5-y limited warranty. The VelociRaptor is a faster, high-performance HDD made for 3D rendering, digital content creation and editing. Capacity up to 1 TB and 5 years limited warranty.

 

So, I think the best one depends on what exact amount of space you need. If you're going to need a larger space than 1 TB - WD Black would be better, otherwise - I would recommend the VelociRaptor.
