modem works for everyone but me

i just got new internet works for every device except for my desktop we are siad to get 20 but i get 7??

it works on all the other computers except for mine 

i run windows 8 my brother has 7 and it works for him frown.gif

ISPs say your speeds in megaBIT most of the time, though when you are downloading something it displays the speed in megaBYTE.

 

say i pay for 50mb down, if i were downloading a steam game, my speed would say 6.25MB (50/8) , if i was getting the max speed i paid for

yeah i know 20mbit i get 7mbit im saying that its diffrent only on mine i know the mega bit and byte diffrence :( any more solutions?

are yoy both using a wird connection? Are you drivers up to date? Were you downloading the same file?

both are using wifi ccards same card only differnece is mine is windows 8.1 and his is windows 7 i cant find drivers fore windows 8.1 for my card
