24", 1080p, 120-144hz, w/ gsync monitor? (Suggestions)

Im looking for a monitor with a 24", 120-144hz, 1080p display as you can see in the title. My budget is $500 and under. Im looking at the Asus VG248QE (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313), and Benq xl2411z (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014376). Im looking for a monitor for fps. Is investing in a GSYNC monitor worth the investment for my gtx 970? I dont really understand the importance of gsync... While response times and refresh rate are very important to me, I also really want good colors and decent viewing angles. I dont want to sacrifice one for the other which I feel I'm doing with either of the two monitors above. Please give me suggestions and let me know about upcoming monitors/ technologies that might be worth waiting for. Thanks.

I'd say just get an XL2411z or a non G-sync version of the Asus VG248QE, I don't really see G-sync as being worth the extra $250~.

The advantage of g-sync is that the monitor only refreshed when the gpu is ready -- eliminating tearing completely.

I would go for the Benq XL2420Z. This is a awesome monitor.
