Best radiator, 560 or 480?

When i'll watercool ill buy the test bench used by linus, the Eatx version, leaving the rad in the bottom part... I'll watercool a gtx780 and 4770k, overclocked and overvolted (ov only the cpu, ocs really bad...) and maybe in the future the mobo too... The Noctua industrialppc pwm fans (2000rpm) are made in 14cm version too, so i would choose them or the 12cm version....

 

Yeah true, the NF-A14's are good too. You'll be golden, with a 420 UT60 and 3 NF-A14 IPPC's on it. It has a bit more total surface area than the 480 and it's perfect for an OC'ed GTX 780 and 4770K.

There is much difference? (560 is bigger, but the overall volume of 480 60mm thick is pratically double...) With Noctua's 2000 PWM fans, is better to go with high fins density or low? If i make the fans stay quiet the low density will perform better, but what if i raise the RPMs? I have all the space i want, so if u guys know a rad that is really worth buying, just say...

Even though the 480 is thicker, the 560 will still give better heat dissipation especially if it's higher fpi. Bigger rads give more performance vs thicker rads. You're spot on with the low fin density (low fpi) vs high fin density (high fpi). Low fpi is better for fans at low rpm while high fpi rads really shine with fans at high rpm. 

 

I would recommend the Alphacool 480 UT60, it's one of the best thick low fpi full copper rads out there at the moment. The great thing about it is, that like other thick low fpi rads with will out perform high fpi rads at low rpm and perform just as good as high fpi rads at high rpm.

 

Other rads you can look at: the EK XTX 480 or the Hardware Labs Black Ice SR-1 480.

The UT60 560 is good? Ive also seen that they make the monsta, hich is 80mm thick... Would it perform slightly better?

I don't really use 560 rads because it's a bit of  a hassle to find cases that can fit it, say if you want another case in the future. Most cases can take a 420 or 480. There are also more good 120mm static pressure fans available than 140mm fans.

 

The 560 UT60 should perform better since it's just a bigger version of the 480 UT60.

 

The Monsta should perform a bit better but it's also the only rad that needs push/pull. 60 to 65mm low fpi rads are a good sweet spot and you can do push or pull with some good static pressure. 

 

What are you cooling? What case do you have?
