If you get the G3258 with the MSI Z97 PC Mate at Micro Center, the total is $99.99, which is less than that motherboard costs without the processor.

`I got the bundle at newegg with the G3258 and the MSI Z97 UP3 for $100. The Pentium surprised me. I got roughly the same FPS with the Pentium as I do with my 3570K.

Definitely recommend it for budget builds.

Same FPS? Ermm...what game?

Selling my parts of my 900D rig for a jacked up Ncase M1. PM me for offers if interested (will take some reasonable-low offers because I'm desperate).

Parts that I'm selling: 900D (1 slot cover broken for stealth DVD drive mod) | Asus Z87 Deluxe | Cooler Master 212 Evo | Corsair 4x2GB black ram @1600mhz | EVGA 1000G2 PSU (2 cables with missing heat shrink) | DVD drive | HP membrane keyboard | Ducky Shine 3 YOTS in blue switches (warranty sticker broken)

I bought this in late June at that price at Micro Center. What's the big deal?

Roughly the same. In Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2 and Fallout 3(happen to be playing it) I got a 2-6 fps boost. In Battlefield 4 Multiplayer I got a 10 fps decrease in minimum frame rate.

If you don't believe me, you can look at benchmarks and remember that I have a 3570k. Not a 4670k or 4690k.

Edit:Pentium was running at 4.8ghz and 3570k  at 4.3ghz because my motherboard decided recently that it was just not going to overclock.

I'm running a g3258 and feel no difference from my 4670k. People keep saying not to buy it because it's a dual core but the reality is that most people don't need anything more powerful than that.
