Scrap laptops/netbooks would be the only option I can think of...

Edit:
Not too sure how the video signal works but I think there's a module for the Pi that handles that...

Probably no help at all, but you can get the Retina iPad screens for about $100 or something. Only uses DisplayPort though, and it's out of your budget.

CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K @4.5GHz          RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Black              Drives: 480GB SSD/1.3HDD

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H          Graphics Card: ASUS HD7970 Direct CUII     PSU: Corsair HX650M

Case: NZXT Phantom Black/Modded        CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-C14                            Monitors: 2x Dell U2312HM

well you can buy screens that are meant for netbooks and connect those. we did that for a college project back in the day. but im not sure about the price since spare parts are not always cheap maybe get a used netbook and take that apart. but you will need a scaler for that to work since notebook screens use a special interface. but the screens are lovely thin and i imagine you could hide a scaler in a arcade maschinde pretty easily. as for power may have to tinker around a little bit or just have a second power cable.

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

GPU: MSI GTX1080 Ti Aero @ 2 GHz (watercooled) CPU: Ryzen 5600X (watercooled) RAM: 32GB 3600Mhz Corsair LPX MB: Gigabyte B550i PSU: Corsair SF750 Case: Hyte Revolt 3

UPDATE (because I was bored and I'm interested in your project):

found these:

http://www.element14.com/community/thread/29151/l/how-do-i-use-a-laptop-screen-for-the-raspberry-pi

http://www.ebay.com/usr/e-qstore

http://www.4dsystems.com.au/group/Raspberry_Pi_Display_Modules/

first 2 say how to use a laptop panel as a display... You'd need to contact the user e-qstore for specifics on the module

3rd link sells display modules and kits

Google search keywords: raspberry pi display module
