M65 RGB vs. g502

Go to solution Solved by Verne,

Thx, I agree completely with you. I like heavier mice tho, and the sensor doesn't matter too much for me, I actually prefer a tiny bit of acceleration as I use low sensitivities. That puts both mice with no negatives. You see my dilemma now?

Let me put it this way, what is more important for you: how the mouse looks (M65 RGB) or how it performs (G502)?

Hey guys, I am looking for a mouse and have come across these two mice as my favorites. I'm trying to pick one. Both mice feel very good in hand, as I tried them in Best Buy. I know the g502 is optical and whatnot, but 5% acceleration for me is negligible. RGB is also important for me, but the "hyper fast" scroll wheel on the g502 is really cool too. I'm open to any other suggestions, but nothing over $100. I've already crossed out the Deathadder, Rival, M45, Sensei, Taipan, Any R.A.T. series mice, anything from GAMDIAS, thermaltake, Mionix, Roccat, or Anker. If you want to convince me of something on that list, then go ahead.

P.S. Don't care about the "tramp stamp" on the Corsair. I would be getting the "Sails" version coming out at the end of November if I decided to get it.

Edit: Could anyone explain to me why hardware acceleration is so bad? Personally, it doesn't affect my gameplay at all, and its practically unnoticeable in good laser mice.

Edit #2: WHAAAAAT??? MSI MAKES MICE??? Does anyone have any experience with the MSI ds200 mouse? Adjustable weights, 10 buttons, rgb backlights, and all the other shenanigans for $40???

G502:

+ Good sensor

+ Nice amount of customization

+ A handful of extra buttons

+ Good for claw and palm grip

- Heavy (even without the weights)

M65 RGB:

+ Disco lights

+ Aluminum swag

+ Good for fingertip and claw grip

- Not so good sensor

- Heavy

Just my view of the two mice.

Thanks, but I prefer having the sniper button, rub, and a heavier mouse.

Ok, well i would say the M65 but i am a bit of a Corsair fan, since i've had bad experience's with logitech (beside's their race wheels) so i would go for the Corsair.

Cool, I'll take that into account, but could you tell me what bad experiences you've had with logitech?

I can't see that much of a difference in performance. I don't need the 12,000 dpi, I don't need to reach above 150 tips, and acceleration doesn't matter to me. Is there anything else I'm missing out on?

Tbh I find both looking great. I only have experience with Logitech Mice for the rest so I can't comment on how the M65 would be.

And I personally can't say anything bad about Logitech. Always liked their products, lasted long on me and their customer service is really awesome. (best customer service ever?)

Cool, I'm glad to see some good customer support from Logitech. I'll take that into account.

acceleration is bad because you will always be doing guesswork/reactionary work when aiming

if you need to swipe to the right, with acceleration it just becomes -> swipe, see where you ended up after acceleration, adjust, click. since the acceleration depends on how far you swiped, it will always be a guessing game and reactionary

with a better mouse (g502), you eventually gain muscle memory with consistent distance => pixel tracking

Well, I play high sensitivity, so I usually move my mouse very little. I also rarely need to do 180 or 360 spins, unless someone is behind me. Then I would just bullet spray and aiming wouldn't matter very much. But I will definitely consider this

I had the m65 and at first I didn't care about the acceleration but after a while I started to notice it and it was really bad. I switched to a mionix naos 7000 and it's the best mouse I've ever had.

it's NOT just 180 spins or 360 spins - that's the most used misconception

acceleration happens on ALL movement. how fast or how slow you move your mouse at the time, combined with how far you move it at the time

a quality mouse should put you the same distance REGARDLESS of how you got there

Right, but the difference in distance will be greater when turning more. It's just math. I've decided to get the m65, because of the fancy lights and good quality. I'm coming from a generic dell mouse, so an avago adns 9800 sensor should be a good step up.

Well, the mionix just isn't heavy enough for me, but thanks. I usually just play BF4, CSGO, TF2, and Dota 2 where I don't need too much accuracy. Thx tho. Decided on the m65, since a n00b like me doesn't really need a flawless sensor.

Well, I did consider the sensor, but I like mouse accel. Been playing with it on for the past week, and I have surprisingly been doing noticeably better
