I7 8700k and GTX 970

Right now i got a i5 6600 and a gtx 970. I do a lot of videoediting with sony vegas and i stream fortnite. I got 2 monitors. When i stream and get into an imtense fight, i usually get cpu lag (cpu running 100%). So i was wondering if i bought a i7 8700k, would the prosessor be too good for the gpu or would it benefit me in how i am using my pc?

No, CPU wouldn't be 'too good' for a 970. I'd recommend an R7 2700 over the 8700k tho
