I have a Beastly Router. But I keep getting emails from Comcast saying my modem can’t keep up. I just upgraded to a 250mbps down 15mbps up. What’s the best modem I can use for this that’s not way overpriced?

CM600, SB6183, or about any Docsis 3.1 modem will do. Stay away from 32 channel Docsis 3.0 modems like the SB6190 and CM700 because they have the Intel Puma 6 chip in them and are defective.

Id probably be more inclined to get the CM600 which is about $90 on Amazon right now. Its a 24x8 modem and should be able to handle about every speed tier besides Gigabit.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

"Best" is subjective. To even get close to the "best" you'll be paying a few thousands if not hundred of thousands for it. Home stuff is not even amogst the "best" stuff on the market. Try "best modem for x price" instead.

I didn't even know you could buy your own modem...

I'm pretty sure those emails from comcast are just to try to get you to upgrade. ;)

Here in the US Federal Law gives the customer the right to buy their own equipment because our ISPs Charge a monthly rental fee (Not all but most). If the OP is using the a 4x4 or 8x4 cable modem then on the Comcast network they are not using the right modem. A 8x4 modem on the Comcast network can do a max of about 220 Mbps. So any faster speed tiers need a min of a 16x4 on up. The more channels support the better your experience will be, this is due to being able to lock on to more channels which means if one becomes over saturated, your internet experience wont degrade.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
