  • After selecting my Windows 10 profile options, it brings me to a screen that says, “Why did my PC Restart?” It then makes me download an update, which restarts my computer, but then brings me to the exact same screen where I have to download the update again, creating a loop. Any fixes?

We'll need more info.

What kind of PC do you have?

Specs?

Which Windows 10 version (not just home/pro but actual version i.e. 1607, 1709, 1803)?

Have you tried creating a fresh install medium from the Microsoft website?

It’s a prebuilt Alienware Alpha R2

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-6400T (2.2GHz, four threads)
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 960 4GB
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4 (SODIMM format)
  • Storage: 500GB 7200rpm Hard Drive
  • WiFi: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 1x1 + Bluetooth 4.0

I’m asking because I sold it to someone and they encountered this glitch

There's a ton of update issues with Alienwares and Windows 10 from what I've read. Might be better to just get a clean install on there, destroying all recovery BS from Dell/Alienware in the process.

Create a fresh install medium for Windows using Media Creation Tool from the Microsoft website, boot from it and install. Don't use any original Dell/Alienware media.
