Well instead of a 3770k I would get a 4770k

May I ask why you would get Haswell over Ivy Bridge when it's just more expensive, gets hotter, and doesn't perform that much better to justify it?

Ivy Bridge overclocks better and is cheaper. I would get a 3570k over a 4670k 9 times out of 10. Or a 3770k over a 4770k.

If you are editing, why not a 4770k, or if heavy editing, a 6-core. Will he really game in Eyefinity? or will he just use the game on one screen and the others for Multi-tasking. If the is just gaming on one screen and the others are for multitasking, only one 290x/780 ti will be necessary.

CPU: i7-4770k CPU Cooler: NH-D14 RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8gb GPU: EVGA Superclocked 780 ti MOBO: ASUS Maximus VI Gene PSU: Corsair RM 850 Case: Bitfenix Prodigy M

Why are you buying 2 120gb SSD's when you could just buy one 256gb SSD.  I doubt you are going to RAID the two (I don't even know if you can hardware RAID the EVO)

Why wouldn't you raid them? I've got two 250GB EVO's running in RAID0, they're fast as hell and I'm yet to have problems with them.

An Ivy Bridge overclock has to be about 10% higher than a Haswell overclock to match the Haswell's performance. The actual cost differential today is AU$10.

If one has Ivy Bridge it makes no sense to move to Haswell. That is clear. But if one is buying new, choosing Ivy Bridge over Haswell seems unreasonable.
