If I get RGB ram does my mother board need to be RGB or have RGB in the name for it to work?

if you want it to sync with anything else, your motherboard must have a sync program. but you can run the software from the ram maker to control it on any motherboard that supports ddr4

No it does not. The RAM just goes into the slot and voila.

Thank you :)

Oh I should have mentioned that. Yeah, see if you want something like Aura-sync or Mystic-sync

aura and mystic are the best on the market, but rgb fusion and polychrome are fine too

Aura-Sync is by ASUS and Mystic-Sync is by MSI. They are components with software that allow you to sync different components. That way if you want your motherboard and RAM to match, then you can do just that.
