Laptop for coding

Alesek

Hello,

I am looking for a laptop for coding/big data and school. I dont need anything super fast as I have a desktop I can remote desktop to but also nothing too slow as I dont want to do that every time I need to run a simple model. I think the 8th gen i5 CPU should be good enough. Preferably something very portable. Price below 1500 euros.

I was thinking about Surface Laptop 2, XPS 13, LG Gram, or Razer Stealth.

Any recommendations?

MSI MEG X570 Unify

32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance

RTX 3080

Dark Base Pro 900

Corsair RM1000i

On the cheaper side. R5 2500u HP X360 13".

It has a faster GPU than most laptops and CPU is still very good.

I was going to recommend a ryzen laptop but couldn't think of any off the top of my head.

I agree with this guy ^^

If you want arguably the best 2 laptops this year. The surface laptop is a good contender, but also the Huawei Matebook X Pro (Pro is i portant as the non-pro sucks).

They are both on the more expencive side, but id also say they are the best ones. (The only thing about the surface is not thunderbolt)

Some Ryzen Laptops have thermal and driver issues so I would be careful and look up some reviews first

All laptops thermal throttle these days and afaik the x360 from HP doesnt have any glaring issues. Scores quite well in reviews and is an excellent performer at its pricepoint

I am aware of that and it doesn’t apply to all Ryzen laptops. I guess because it’s a fairly new architecture they still have some driver quirks here and there.

Give a range, 'light' and 'good' is subjective
