Hi guys quick question what were the programs that Linus uses to break in a cpu and a gpu, I can't remember what they were also I will be running windows 8 if that makes a difference.

Also what was the website that allowed you to download all the programs you want without all the bloatware ?

Break in a CPU or GPU? What does that even mean???

If you are talking about http://ninite.com/ ?

You don't have to break in a CPU or GPU, Just use them normally.

CPU: Intel core i5 3570 Motherboard: Gigabyte-H77-DS3H Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB  GPU: MSI Radeon HD 7950 Twin Frozr III Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB  PSU: Seasonic G Series 550W

I'm not sure what you mean with "break in"? If you mean testing I suggest you run Prime95 or Intel Extreme Tuning Utility for testing the CPU and Unigin Heaven or a game for testing the GPU. You do however not need to do this if you are not overclocking or you ain't experiencing instabilities.

And the website is http://ninite.com/

I will be overclocking it priime 95 that would be it also does msi's afterburner software work for just msi cards, and thanks for the help guys

If you're using Haswell I would use Aida64 or intel burn test. MSI Afterburner can work with any card.

Theres no such thing like breaking in those components, they are not headphones lol. They can only degrade over use. (Don't worry it's very minimal)

Yes it is a 4770k thanks for the reccomendation

Run AIDA64 for a couple of hours by using their System Stability Test and selecting Stress CPU, FPU, cache, and system memory. For GPU testing, I would run a couple of loops with Heaven or just play a graphic intensive game like BF3/Crysis 3/BF4 and look to see if there are any artifacts in the video. If there are none, then your gpu is good.

Like said before, no need to break them in. Before doing OC you might want to know how much headroom your cooling gives. So run something like 3dmark to check how cpu&gpu maxes. Or OCCT or some other benchmark utility.

4770k? Don't use prime unless you are sitting that the computer, running blend and only running one round. Temps go bonkers after round 1 (10 minutes or so).

Aida 64, real bench by Asus, 3d mark vantage, cinebench r 15. Run those. If it passes a few passes of those or 10-15 minutes of the stress tests? You are probably stable. Play some games.

If on the stock cooler? Don't run any of them. Stock cooler SUCKS on a 4770k even at stock speeds. Gaming it is fine, rendering the temps are nuts. Stock cooler is "ok" on the I5. HT adds 10 degrees in rendering, stress testing. All it does is run your chip too hot. It doesn't break it in, it just shortens it's lifespan for no reason.

CPU:24/7-4770k @ 4.5ghz/4.0 cache @ 1.22V override, 1.776 VCCIN. MB: Z87-G41 PC Mate. Cooling: Hyper 212 evo push/pull. Ram: Gskill Ares 1600 CL9 @ 2133 1.56v 10-12-10-31-T1 150 TRFC.
