i7-2600 mobo?

Greenish
Go to solution Solved by TheSLSAMG,

Motherboards for the socket went out of production about 5 years ago, so there's nothing new that you can buy from the manufacturer. Any brand new in box boards you find would probably be unjustifiably expensive. There are a lot of secondhand options on sites like eBay though, and that's your best bet.

So I am working on a second pc. I have an i7-2600. Are there any new mobos that support the cpu that i can officially buy from the manufacturer

idk tbh

There was tech channel in YT reviewing Socket 1155 that was brand new but made in China. They suck basically.

You're better off getting used.

My advice: Do NOT buy the generic chinese boards. I haven't bought one, and while I haven't heard anything bad about them, I haven't heard very many good things about them either. You can buy a good used board for under $75 USD.

I bought a used Gigabyte Z77 board on ebay for $74 and it works great. It was shipped from China, I was definitely skeptical at first but I've had zero issues with it, and it has zero bent pins. I would actually recommend looking on Aliexpress instead, because they may have cheaper used boards, and if you're a new customer you can get a $4 promo code right now off of a $20+ purchase. They have some other promo codes worth looking into aswell. However, I'm not sure what the return policy is on Aliexpress, so you might be better off sticking to ebay since they have a money back guarantee.

EDIT: I would recommend getting a Z series board, because you can overclock 2nd and 3rd gen non-k i5s and i7s up to 400mhz simply by raising the turbo boost in the bios.

This board is from the same seller I bought mine from.
