Overclocking Help

I got r7 1700 , ddr4 2400 mhz ballistix crucial , asrock killer SLI x370.

I went to the bios and got the 2400 mhz up to 2933 mhz and a thing called DRAM voltage from 1,2 to 1,35 .

I booted up the pc and no image whatsoever , so then i went to the manual and i did Clear CMOs thing and now my pc is fine and bios are reset , but can someone tell me what i did wrong?

And how its possible to actually do some overclocking ?

Is it worth to do the ram , or the cpu , or both , and will it decrease the lifespan of any of these components ?
