Since you were able to boot with a 2nd gen CPU, then yes. If it wasn't updated the system wouldn't turn on.

 

I wouldn't really use that motherboard with an 8 core 2700x CPU though...

i did not boot it curently its on 2200g i updated it and now i want to swap the cpu. Well thats all my budget so i couldnt really be picky with the mobo
