reMarkable Tablet

Hey everyone, I just saw the reMarkable tablet in which the screen is like a true white paper. Looks good but the price is close to 600$ (USD) which I felt was very high for a tablet of its kind. What do you guys think? Is it worth the price?

I have been debating this for a while, and while there are alternatives from both ONYX and Sony, the pricing is similar. My main reason I haven't bought one is, thinking back to one of my original kindle's years (a decade even?) ago and I never preferred it over a physical book. I even gave it to my grandmother. Maybe the technology has improved greatly since that time, but I doubt it. Granted I'd mainly use one for reading research documents so YMMV. Especially because how I read constantly requires flipping of pages (though that wasn't true back in the day with reading novels...).
