Okay, so for a while now when I am playing games at random times about every 1-2 days, the computer freezes and a buzzing sound comes from the speakers.

I checked and both my hard drives have no errors or bad sectors, last time it crashed the GPU and CPU temps were well within tolerance, and my RAM has no issues either, I was told by a friend here, that because of this, he believes it is a software issue.

He said to check my crash types, but I can't really do that because I have to restart. All I know is it freezes and I hear buzzing.

So, I am here to ask, software wise, what should I check, what could possibly be the culprit?

GPU would be my first check. Try with older and beta drivers. Also reseating might help.

I've had drivers from June 2017 until a couple days ago, I turned the processor maximum usage down to 80% and am repairing the registry. If it happens again, I will try reseating indeed.

Either way, since it happens rarely like every 1-2 days, it will take 3 days to test if it comes back or not, if it doesn't ill put the cpu usage back up to max and see if it makes it come back.

Because I do remember having to run a utility that deleted a few registry files to run a graphics overlay on grand theft auto san andreas, so that could've very well caused it.

We'll have to see.
