Alright so last year I got a new pc, and it worked fine except for having a bad GPU and having to get a new one, but recently I've started getting random reboots while gaming. I've had this problem a long time ago, but it stopped over time, and now it came back.

     PC Specs(I know it's a bad combination):

CPU: AMD FX-4320 non overclocked with stock cooler

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990 Gaming Sli

GPU: AMD XFX RX 580 OC Black Edition

Storage:256 gb Kingston SSD+1TB WD Blue

RAM: 2x8 HyperX Fury 1600 MHz

PSU: Inter-tech Energon 650W Modular 85.55%

Windows 7, haven't had the chance to upgrade yet...

From what I've read on the internet, it may be the PSU, but I just need to be sure before buying a new one (pc stuff is expensive where I live). I have disabled Cool n Quiet in the BIOS and also the auto-overclock, but they still happen. Weird thing is they don't happen at a certain point in gaming, sometimes during loading times, other times in mid gameplay.

    Suggestions?

I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread, because I am not 100% sure if it's the PSU or the Motherboard/CPU.

WIndows 10?  What does the event viewer say after a reboot?  You might find some information in there.

I would doublecheck ALL drivers for EVERYTHING as windows will freak out if there are driver issues and reboot for what looks like no good reason.

I have windows 7, edited the topic just now, haven't had the chance to upgrade to Windows 10 yet but I am planning to do in the near future.

I'm suspecting it could be your PSU, since it is some brand I have never heard of. Check HWMonitor and see if your +3.3V, +12V, and +5V rails are within range. If they are way off, then try another PSU and see if it is just the sensors that are having issues.

I'll try that, thanks. What should I be looking for? What is "normal" for this cpu?

If you look at the top of HWMonitor, there should be a +12V, +5V, and +3.3V readings. The voltage reading should be close about +/- 5%.

Uh, well then, this is weird... There is no +12V +5V and +3.3V in HWMonitor at all.

Is there any chance you could find a spare PSU to test with, cause if it is the PSU that failing then you have a pretty risky chance of killing your whole PC. If not, you could find a cheap PSU tester:

Also your temperatures are all fine, so that is out of the question.

I'll see what I can do, I might be able to get the PSU out of my old computer, but I'm not sure it would be powerful enough. And about the tester my dad could probably help, I'll come back with a response if I manage to do one of those options, and if not I might just buy a new PSU to test since black friday is coming up.

Good luck, if you have any questions about what PSU to get. Go ask the people in the Cases and Power Supplies section, they have a lot of knowledge about PSUs.
