I've recently built a PC, and I was watching a few video's on bios. Some of them said if I want to use raid to start using it ASAP.

I have no idea what they're talking about.

I have a 1TB SSD and a 2TB Hard drive.

I could also use some help with where to store what, and how to move applications from one drive to the other.

Never user onboard RAID unless you have a very specific reason for doing so. AHCI is what you want to use in 2018.

As for where to store what, make the 1TB SSD your C drive (OS drive) and make your 2TB HDD your storage drive (usually D drive). You can do this by selecting the 1TB SSD when you go to perform the OS install and then once your OS is installed go to Disk Management and configure your 2TB HDD as a new drive. Now to move applications between the two, you'll need to do this when you're installing the app. Just select the correct drive on install.

RAID is combining like-storage for better performance. Since you have an SSD and an HDD, this feature is worthless to you. So leave it on AHCI.

As far as what to put on the drives:

  • SSD: OS and frequently used apps
  • HDD: Documents, pictures, music, and video files. Lesser used applications can also live here.
