Question about ram sticks.

Good evening everyone, I'm in dire need of someone's knowledge, I'm currently sitting on this hardware
i7 6700K
MSI Z170 Krait
GTX 1060 G1 Gaming
HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4-2400MHz (HX424C15FB/8)
Emphasis on the product code;

Because the exact same ram stick has steeply gone up in price to around 145 dollars (converted from the euro) from the mere 50 dollhairs when I initially bought it
but then on the other hand the HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4-2400MHz (HX424C15FB2/8) is half the price and I was thinking if I can mix and match them.
From the research I've done already I know one's Single rank and the other's Dual rank and besides the
Command Time (tRFCmin) - 260ns(min.) - For the (HX424C15FB/8)

Command Time (tRFCmin) - 350ns(min.) - For the (HX424C15FB2/8)
all other specs seem to be the same.
Would be neat if anyone who knows if it'll work and/or has tried something similar out. Thanks everyone in advance.

I should in theory work, and it will clock to the worst timings and clocks. But ram mixing comparability is a weird thing

In my experience, and from what I've seen on videos...it might work. RAM seems to be quite finicky, especially on the initial build/boot up, pre-OS installation. For example, I have four matching 16 gig sticks of G-Skills RAM that I bought for a previous build. In my latest build, I pulled half of them out to use on my new build. I put them into the new system and the mobo was showing RAM errors right off the bat and the system wouldn't boot into the BIOS. So, I put all four of them into the system and it worked fine.. Once I got the OS installed, I pulled out two of them and everything is working nicely.

If it were me, and if it were my money, I wouldn't risk it. Since you got such a good deal on the 8Gig stick you have, maybe you could sell it and at least break even, maybe even make a little profit, then just buy two matching sticks.

The one and only time I mixed different RAM my system became unstable even at stock speeds and so I had to sell both sticks and get a 16GB kit. That being said you may have better luck and be able to run your system just fine. Typically if you cannot find the exact same model you bought previously then you may have issues if you try to run the RAM past stock speeds, and dual channel mode may become an issue. But I know that many people have successfully bought a second stick of RAM and had no issues, I am just not one of those people so objectively I recommend not doing it.
