Build for 1080p60fps, thoughts?

mechkeyboardguy

How is this build? The CPU and ram is from an Acer prebuilt (specifically ATC-780A-UR11). The motherboard is also originally about $71 but is on sale

The CPU can also turbo boost to 3.3 ghzlist.png.7343a7c3c6e0ef9df1094369f989aee2.png

The gpu seems overpriced compared to an RX 580 8GB.

I'm pretty sure you cant overclock on that board, and since the i5-6400 chip comes with a included cooler then you should be fine with the stock cooler.

Since the board is a locked chip set then you cant overclock so the stock cooler should be fine.

Unless you don't have the stock cooler, if you do then you can save yourself $35 and invest it into other areas.

However at the end of the day it is your choice.

@QeQ5

Intel stock coolers are pretty rubbish though. It is worth spending $20 - $30 on a decent cooler so it doesn't get too loud under load.

I personally would, however if your on a budget it's not necessary since the CPU is non-overclockable.

The 1060 6gb will easily hit 60 1080, it's what I use for now.  However, prices on the 1070, 1070ti, 1080, and 1080ti are low due to the new generation of GPU's, unless your on a budget I would consider one of those for future proofing.

Still worth it just for noise reduction.
