freesync on GTX

Title basically says it all, I have a freesync monitor that i got for my rx480, but now I am switching to a GTX 1080 and it would be pretty problematic for me to change this monitor to one with g-sync, so the question is, is there any other work around to make freesync work on a GTX card without a ryzen APU or radeon card inside? (I'm planning to sell my rx480)
will give more information about my setup if necessary

ok, i found out that 7000 series is the oldest that supports freesync, does it mean that I'll be fine with like 7350?
