Hey folks,

Looking to see if anyone could recommend a audio playing app that will save time stamps when closed and re-opened. Needs to be for Android but would be great if they had a Windows version too.

Basically I got a bunch of audiobooks from Humble but they're all FLAC or MP3 format, whichever I decide when downloading.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paid or free? Best audiobook app for Android (in my opinion) is Smart Audiobook player. I have been using it since 2012. Using both MP3 and those formats Amazon and iTunes use. Free version is enough for most of the things (it has been extended since I used it). So you don't need to pay $3.5 for it. It remembers your position in book automatically for up to 5 books, plus has bookmark function. And sync across supported devices.

For music I use different player, Poweramp which was closest at the time to Foobar. Its paid app with limited free test. It saves position, and I suppose you could make playlist per book. But considering what Smart Audiobook Reader does, thats really not for me.

For Windows I don't know as I would use my phone still. The audioplayer for Windows is Foobar2000. But I think people tend to use Google Music more, or just VLC or other more generic players. I think most allow save position when stopped in settings. And ofc Google Music works on Android too.

Awesome, thank you!

That's really helpful, it's mainly for audiobooks as I use Spotify for music.
