So ive been trying this out but it tells me it needs 15.8 days to complete one WU on my 7700HQ.
Who even leaves their pc on for that long? I get it for desktops.

Am i doing something wrong or is it just rediculous?

Edit: Shuttign down the pc i assume just throws away all progress?

I got around 90 WUs in one day with an i7 6700 and GTX 970.

Are you folding on your CPU or GPU or both?

That seems a little long for both. remember to not fold with all your CPU cores as the GPU needs about 1 thread to feed the 1050 ti and you'll want to keep another thread for Windows.

Make sure you've registered at Stanford for a Passkey as that will dramatically boost your points.

You should be able to get around 200,000 points per day off a 1050 ti. And a typical work-unit (WU) should take between 5 - 8 hours on the GPU.

When you restart the system the Folding at Home Client should start near where it left off when shut down

Yeah, you only get a realistic time estimate once it's finished the first frame.

The FAHClient will set the number of cores to "-1" by default which should be fine.

If you want to manually set the number of cores due to issues in the Advanced Control Client click on "Configure" then the "Slots" tab then set the number of threads.

Note that changing this while a WU is running will likely kill the running Work Unit so if you want to get the points first set the CPU WU to "Finish" then after it is completed change the threads.
