Monitor input displays set?

Is this a new build, or was it purchased used (or partially used)?

If you take the GPU out then connect your monitor to your motherboard, do you get any output?

Is the monitor on and set to auto detect input or the correct input?

Also, I think you mean i5 8600K not 8900K.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

update the bios of the motherboard

How do you even do that?

And will that make the i5 9600k and asrock z370 pro4 compatible?

heres the thing- There are two processors the (1)core i5 8600k- 8th gen

                                                                          (2)core i5 9600k- 9th gen

Also both of these processors are compatible with both  z370 as well as z390

So an easier fix will be to just return the 9600k and get an 8600k right?

only pc parts I have are the ones in this build guide.
