Ok so my psu only has 6 SATA cables will it be safe to use a SATA Y splitter and can someone send me a link to a high quality one?

Depends on the components you're powering off if, if they are relatively low power devices then you don't have much worry.

SATA power splitters are fine I use one or more in every rig in the house.  I have a single 4 way splitter powering 2 HDD, 1 SSD, 1 ODD hooked to a single output on one of the rails in my HTPC (it only has SATA power and very few so I have a 4 way splitter on each lead) and its a non-issue (just giving you an example of one in use)

EDIT - a 4 pack of splitters is the same'ish price as buying a single splitter on Newegg, food for thought

These are the ones I use and have in use (My HTPC is on 24/7 in the 6 pack these are currently not in stock on Newegg):

I also use these brands of cables for extenders etc and have no issues:

Coboc and Rosewill brands as well

Probably, there isn't much to sata power connectors as long as they're crimped well and properly terminated, but for trusted one I would say this is a better option.
