Msi gx60 Cpu swap

I have a MSI GX60 with an AMD A10 5700 cpu that is delidded, and i was wondering if i can swap it out for an AMD A10 6800K that is also delidded.

I think that chip is soldered, but you can check.

As you can see it is socketed and removable.

as long as the board has the newest bios and has enough power to deliver to the chip, you should be fine. the question is, why do you want to?

I have a A10 6800K from a old scrapped system, and want to get a little more life out of it, i was wondering about the power consumtion because its 35 watts more and i can't find out that its officialy supported.

Try it and see what happens. You're unlikely to kill anything.
