Fans doesn't work.. (R4)

Hi, i built my first PC, got into BIOS and everything is working perfectly except my fans, they are hooked up to the fan controller. I have checked all the cables, they're all firmly plugged in, i reseated all the fan cables, and the molex connector. The funny thing is that they worked the first time i booted into the BIOS..  

But i don't see how they could be broken. As said they have been working. They stopped working even though i didn't touch the insides of my case. This is not the end of the world but it is still an issue..

Just to point this out,  the R4 is amazing... and as a first time builder, i am still thankful that my system works :)

Are you using the 5V fan controller setting (or low) when starting up? They sometimes (or most of the time, with my R4 and now with my Node 304) won't start up with that setting. if you boot with 7v and lower it, they will run at 5v perfectly fine.

Try not using the fan controller

The fan controller in the R4 is honestly kinda wonky. I'm not hating on Fractal, it's just a fact. I would suggest using a separate fan controller or a bunch of Y-splitters off of the motherboard if you don't actually care about controlling them.

Did the front facia come loose when you set up the case? That happened to me when I got my R4 and the front panel buttons didn't work. I would check the cables there first maybe something came loose in shipping

This.  More than likely after hooking up the fan cables you moved the case and the fan controller became unplugged up front.  You can take a small screw driver and press in from the side vents to re-connect it.  That happened to me is well.

 

There is nothing wonky at all about Fractal's fan controller.  It works good.
