Hey linustechtips Community, i need your help!

I recently upgraded my GPU from a 4GB EVGA Nvidia GTX 770 to a 6 GB ASUS Nvidia GTX 1060.

I've hoped that my PC performes better in Games, cause i recently played the Battlefield 5 Beta or Black Ops 4 Beta, and it was horrible.

Now i've changed the GPU and i noticed, that it didnt perfomed the way i thought.

Then i thought that my CPU could be the problem, because its "just" a Intel i7-2600 with 3.40Ghz

Also i've got "just" 8GB RAM (2x GeiL Value Plus 4 GB), but before the Upgrade it worked with 12GB (3x Value Plus 4 GB), now it doesnt boot anymore (Asrock p67 Mainboard)

A few minutes ago i did a Benchmark at UserBenchmark and the result said " Overall this PC is performing way below expectations"

Now i need you to give me a advise for fixing this problem, or some things i could also upgrade, so that my PC perfoms better

(I'm from Germany, so please don't be to rude for any possible mistakes i made)

If you've got any question, i do my best to answer them!

When you changed your components, did you remember to uninstall/reinstall drivers?

There is no reason your RAM should stop working with the change of a GPU. did you damage something?

the benchmark says you have a lot of background applications running, in particular your SSD seems to be lagging behind alot. This could mean you have problems with your SSD, or perhaps you were doing something like a windows update at the time of your test? Try to make sure there is as little as possible running in the background of your computer and run the test/games again.

Could always start fresh and reinstall windows to make your PC more snappy again, but this also wouldn't fix your RAM problem.

@Chris_R.

My CPU temps are ok i guess, while idle i've got about 40°C

The GPU doesnt warm up that much too, while playing for example Black Ops 4 it's about 60°C to 70°C, while its just under about 60% load.

@Zyndo

It's like a month ago that i've changed the components and i also un/reinstalled the drivers

I dont think that i've damaged something, couldnt imagine it.

Before it worked with 3 Sticks, or maybe i'm to stupid for the right order

I closed everything which was running in the background and redone the test

A fresh install would be probably a pretty good idea, but i personally dont think that it would help that much

well again, the test is reporting that your SSD's are performing WELL below spec. Not sure of the cause. I personally do not run those tests and I've thought the userbenchmark site to be largely useless IMO, but assuming the test knows what it's doing, it's pointing to major performance issues with your SSD's... which could definitely be leading to performance issues if they're performing that poorly.

That being said, the combined and sudden issue of your RAM and storage devices not working properly leads me to believe neither of them are the problem. Perhaps your motherboard is the problem. The 2000 Intel series is no spring chicken, and if you have been using it daily since it was new, perhaps it's just finally dying? I don't know. Your problems could be any number of things, but without being there to see what is going on I can't really help you. I don't have enough information on this end to point out what you need to look for next.

You could just do a saftey check of the Smart status of your ssds just to be sure. There should be plenty of information out there that shows how to do that.

The benchmark in itself is a bit misleading in regards to the ssds mentioned by the previous poster. It says your first drive is performing way below average, but then gives you a score of 60% very good? Maybe I am reading that wrong. You might look into more widely used benchmark programs like cenebinch or 3D mark.

I stand by my logic: playing BF5 on a 2500 yeah it's gonna be rough IMO even on lowest settings, but I can see the argument to be made about the bottlenecking. I remember playing BF1 with a 4670K and a 1070. It was okay but struggled to maintain 60fps at anything above high settings.

Thanks!

Okey, i've done some more Benchmarks and just realised that my BIOS was in IDE-Mode and not in AHCI.

I've fixed it and this is the result now: New Result

I also don't understand why it says " Performing way below expectations" while it's reaching 93.7% in this run and is in the green area.

Probably i should look for another benchmarking software.

Now i still have the problem with the RAM, do you have any solution for it?

In the BIOS it says the 2 sticks are running in Single-Channel Mode, but i dont quite know how to change it/in which channel which stick comes
