high end pc not running minecraft

specs gtx 1070  intel i7-8700k 16gb DDR4 corsair vengeance RAM 

so i can run rust and ark smoothly (very good looking games) however after trying out minecraft again after years, it lags.... ALOT. i would appreciate any help i can get.

I don't play Minecraft but, I know that you have to give it more RAM in the launcher.

It uses a very low amount by default.

I wouldn’t say rust is a smooth game (it really isn’t) but like the dude above said, try increasing ram, especially if you’re tryin mods or something. 6GB should be enough for most modpacks and the game in general

Minecraft has gotten worse over the years since Microsoft took over. If you are running modded MC through a program such as Technic Launcher, in the settings is the option to choose how much ram it can use. (Set to 1GB on default).

@SomeTeenThatLovesComputers i switched the amount of RAM usage to 6 and it still lags. it doesnt lag when i turn off Vsync but i kind of want it on so any other fixes?

also a side note i am using nvdia geforce experiences optimal settings (Which are just max settings)
