Hey, this is my first time posting.

I'm very inspired by Linus and could really use some help putting a desktop together.

1. Budget & Location

So I would say I'm within the range of 800-1300$. That said, I live in Denmark and things are just a tad more expensive. Parts can be aquired from Sweden and Germany.

2. Aim

The goal is to create a build that performs well and can be upgraded longterm with a new GPU, CPU and ram within a 5 year period. Gaming is the most important aspect for me and I've been looking to find a build that is affordable and still keeping up with some of the better AAA titles. It should look good, so the case must look nice and be somewhat portable. Also it is important for me to say that I'm not looking for something that needs to be overclocked. I'm a basic man, it just needs to work. Also I would honestly prefer AMD Ryzen of the never models in the machine.

3. Monitors

I've been used to a 17' monitor on my laptop for a while, so I would definately be looking to get at least a 21' monitor that holds its own for some time. Perhaps a monitor that can be elevated for better comfort.

4. Peripherals

Right now, all I'm looking for is a keyboard. I would prefer it to me not mechanical, as it is too loud for me. If anything jumps out at you and a bundle might be amazing, then I'm up for it.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I've been gaming on a laptop for over 3 years and it is time for me to get a proper desktop.

So hopefully, you guys have some cool ideas for me :)

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/gK4Wjy Little over, but probably the best for your budget

This is a solid build, but I would rather have a 250GB SSD and a GTX 1070 Ti, and swap the PSU for a RM550x if possible. And monitor wise, that's very personal, but Ryzen and 144Hz don't go along as well as Intel, so I'm not sure if that's the best bet. Unless you're playing competitive and e-sports games, I would invest in a better monitor with IPS panel and higher resolution over frequency. Don't skimp on the monitor, it's what is going to transform all the magic inside your case in the image you'll see.

Hello from Århus! (I'm gonna keep it English so everybody can understand ;)).

As long as you have a Ryzen CPU (1st gen or 2nd gen) you should be good for a while. As for the GPU a 1070 is preferred for AAA titles. But if the budget can fit it a GTX 1070 Ti is always better :) I you're buying a Ryzen 2nd gen CPU and pairing it with a 300 series motherboard, make sure that the motherboards BIOS has been updated to support the 2nd gen Ryzen CPUs. For the monitor I'll suggest the ViewSonic - XG2401 23.6" 1920x1080 144Hz. I own one myself and it's pretty good.:) Find a case that you like the looks of and post it here. Then people can find parts for you if you want.:) For the keyboard: There exists key switches that are more silent than the ones you're probably referring to in your description. Those switches are called Cherry MX Blue (Or green if the keyboard is made by Razer). If you want a more silent keyboard I would suggest you look for a keyboard that has Cherry MX Brown switches. They are more silent than Blue and they feel really nice when typing and gaming :)

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

Nice build! :) I made a few tweaks to fit the budget and purpose. Since gaming is the focus I don't see why an unlocked CPU and a motherboard that supports overclocking is a good idea. (Hope this doesn't offend you :)https://pcpartpicker.com/user/simonbyrial/saved/WvX3bv

The list is private right now, so I cannot see what changes you've made.

Also thank you all for the input!

I'm not offended at all! That's a nice build and to be honest I'm not sure why I put the cpu and mobo in there?‍♂️

Oh nice ok. It's just some people in the past. I made some tweaks to their list and freaked out about it. I don't want to go through that again.....?

It's unfortunate that people do that but I totally understand for a build change because each build should be tweaked to fit the person. But maybe to keep with the white theme we could use this one.

That could also work. I just quickly went through PCPartPicker and found something that wasn't colorful :D
