Case fans (Optimal Layout)

Vonix
Go to solution Solved by Jurrunio,

I'd just say put Air Pressure in mounts with air filter, Airflow in those without.

So i have three fans to choose.

1. MasterFan 120 Air flow

2. MasterFan 120 Air Balance

3. MasterFan 120 Air Pressure

Ill be using the case: Corsair 460x

And ill will have the cpu rad: h60 (2018). ill be replacing all fans with a mixture of these (Asus aura) for rgb* purposes.

My question is which fans should i get and where. and also where should my rad go? im thinking either TOP Right, or Front pannel TOP.

I would recommend as many as you can fit on the front, (2-3)  and then 2 in the back/top. I would say less exhaust to keep positive pressure, and dust will stay out. Especially if your PSu fan is facing the mobo.

Cooler Master uses their Balance fans on their rads with less restrictive square fins. They're also higher rpm than their aftermarket RGB counterparts.

Most AIO's have rads with more restrictive fin arrays and perform better with Cooler Master's Pressure fans as opposed to Balance especially when comparing lower rpm aftermarket fans. The H60 2018 has a slightly looser 18 FPI compared to the original H60's 20 FPI but would probably still be better off with Pressure fans due to the lower rpm.
