Hi guys,

I am looking at a few cases and the 690 III is on that short list. I have a few questions I'd like to ask those of you who specifically own the 690 III.

1. How would you classify the build quality of the case?

2. If you own the windowed version, does the window feel flimsy?

3. Does the front 200mm fan pull in a good amount of air into the case?

4. Are the fans loud?

5. Does the case have any vibration issues?

6. Do the dust filters do a good job keeping the dust out?

7. If I decided to add more fans to this case, which ones would you guys recommend?

FYI, the case will only be air-cooled.

Thanks in advance, guys! I really do appreciate your time!

  • 2 months later...

I just bought this case. I'm gonna build in it in about 10 days, so if you don't mind waiting, I can give my opinions then.

But I can answer a few questions. Firstly, the build quality really is solid. I was also worried because of the use of plastic but it is definitely high quality. The window is also solid and doesn't have much flex.

If you want more information, I recommend checking out Hardware Canucks' review.

Great! Yes, I have checked out Hardware Canuck's review and I've watched a few other videos on the case as well. Definitely interested in your opinions of it and can't wait to hear what you have to say.

Also, I read on another forum where a couple guys mentioned about the front panel becoming loose after removing it a few times to clean the dust filter. So, this is a concern, too.

Anyway, please report back with your findings.

Thanks in advance, man!

1. The build quality is great, and even though some parts are made out of plastic, they are of good quality and don't really look look like plastic

2. The window is quite rigid, the entire windowed panel has a decent flex to it though.

3. I changed my front 200mm fan so I have no input here. (The exhaust of the stock 200mm fan is pretty unnoticable, don't know if it's due to the air being warmer or if it moves air really poorly)

4. No, but I would suggest you change them, if you have the money.

5. The HDD mounting cages did make quite a horrible noise when my HDD was running in it, but by adding some vibration reducing "rings" it was eliminated. Exept that, no.

6. I haven't had my computer running long enough to test that yet, but they are easily accessable so they can be cleaned quickly.

7. Noctua fans, but if you're like me and want aesthetic fans without going to the hassle of painting them, try some good Corsair or Cooler Master fans.

It's a great case, it has many fan mounts for air cooling and is easy to work with. (Cable management can be a little hassle sometimes)

I definitely recommend this chassi, and since you're not going to watercool it (It's a little limiting in that cathegory), it's gonna be a breeze to work with. (Pun intended)
