Cursor highlighting issue

So I've had this odd problem where sometimes, when typing a response, my cursor (which is normally... well it's normal) will randomly highlight a letter when I click, instead of blinking between the two letters I want. When I type, it replaces that character with whatever I typed, like it normally would when highlighting. The "cursor" then moves over to the next letter and highlights that letter. Imagine this highlighted letter being where I wanted my cursor to be. Because of this, if I make a mistake while typing, I have to go back and enter whatever I mistyped, and then retype everything after it because instead of adding the letter, it replaced the highlighted character. This won't then go away until I log off the site, close, and relog on. So yeah. It happens about once every couple days, I don't know if there's something specific that causes it. Also don't know if this has been brought to your attention before but just letting you know. If you want, I can take a screen shot of it next time it happens, but it's literally just a highlight replacing my cursor. I can move it around with the arrow keys like a normal cursor would. I don't know /shrug

are you accidentally hitting "insert"? because that converts the cursor into overtype mode. there are 2 modes: insert (when you want), and overtype (an old standard, similar to what you would get in cmd).

................yes. I had no idea this was a thing lol, I literally never new for the life of my what that button was used for. heh...
