overclock problem need help

hey guys,

 

I have a problem with my bios settings. I cleared my bios because, I had problems with my windows and now I cant oc my i7 2600k like I did before with 4,5ghz. my system cant even boot with 1600mhz ratio and the mem ok led is on when I try it. thats how my bios looks like. I hope someone can help me with my problen.  also some options are missing in the bios like cpu ratio ....

you need more voltage, 1.156V isnt getting you to 4.5GHz on that chip

the problem is I dont have the option to oc. there is no cpu ratio option anymore.

I have only a Offset Mode + and -

Your top picture shows that you are in EZ-Mode.  Change to Advanced Mode and you should get the options that you're looking for.

I the 2,3,4 picture you can see that I am in the advanced mode. is my bios maybe corrupted ?

pretty much the same board i think but mine had plates all over it making it hell to do anything lol. you could try updating BIOS i guess, but im pretty sure there is a CPU voltage setting in there somewhere, could be in some strange submenue so dig through all of it

I already updated the bios to the version 3801. but the ratio option is still missing. I wrote in a other forum, that the bios is corrupted and needs to reflashed to fix it but I am not sure.

Flash a slightly older version then?

I tried 2 older versions but the problem is still there

Check for bent pins in the socket

I have the P8P67 Pro B3.1, I'll try to get a photo of mine, same CPU, same clock.

Here's my BIOS settings. Your chip might want medium LLC and more voltage, like my old 2500k, or just more voltage at the same LLC if it's silicon is worse.

ty for the bios pictures. the thing is I dont have even turbo ratio or lcc in my bios

Well, in this case there might be something wrong with the socket like @Jurrunio said, worth a look. Since you already tried several BIOSes, I can't think of anything other than bent pins.

what is about a corrupt bios that people had and options missed aswell like in my situation?

Well, haven't heard about that, I only updated mine once and had no problems (other than wasting time trying to flash the wrong revision). If flashing doesn't solve it, might need to buy a new BIOS chip.

I will try some older versions and maybe it will work. thank you guys for the help

I fix it finally  I did this and it worked.

 

 

My board did something similar to my 2600k, it hid all the overclocking options and the integrated video wasn't detected.

It turned out my Intel ME (management interface) had corrupted.

This is by no means a guarantee for a fix but for me it worked. No idea if it's motherboard vendor/chipset specific but here it is:

To repair you'll need FTK and FD44Editor.

You'll then need a DOS USB, use Rufus with pre-bundled FreeDOS

Then drag contents of FTK to root of that USB, boot to it and type in "backup". It will make a dump of your BIOS.

Now in Windows you need to use FD44 editor, open a downloaded BIOS for your board + the one you backed up.

Now with your Backup BIOS you will see Data values (MAC, DTS, System UUID, S/N ETC) copy these values to the fresh downloaded one.

Now save this fresh BIOS to BIOS.bin, copy and paste it to the root of your USB.

Boot back into freeDOS, do the command merefl.

It should flash. Now turn off the board, unplug power and pull battery for 15 mins.

Boot back up and hopefully it works.
